"The sun shines brightly as we make our way to the starting line the next morning. It’s a cool 7 degrees C but it’s dead calm. A cyclist’s dream. Dozens of volunteers are there to help you park and offer pre-ride refreshments. Vehicles pour into the parking area, some with high-end gear, others carrying Canadian Tire specials."

Thanks to all of the wonderful support our top-notch volunteers provided us! Our riders have been gushing about the terrific assistance and encouragement they received in helping them cross that finish line, and during their post-ride recuperation. Thank you to such a kind, dedicated and hard-working team for a season well done! We look forward to seeing you back at next year’s ride. We couldn’t do this event with you. THANK YOU!

Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie is located in the Municipality of Clare, situated on the shores of Baie Sainte-Marie (Saint Mary’s Bay) in Southwest Nova Scotia, and home to the largest Acadian community in Nova Scotia. Clare is also known as “La Baie Sainte-Marie”, with a dozen coastal fishing villages stretching along the panoramic shores of Saint Mary’s Bay.
Ride with 1000 cyclists in the 5th annual Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie! On Sunday, September 22, 2019, hundreds of cyclists will gather and ride along Nova Scotia's enchanting Acadian Shore for an unforgettable cycling and cultural experience.
Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie is offering 5 exhilarating rides on low-traffic roads. New for 2019, we are offering a 5th ride to celebrate our 5th anniversary: the 88.5 km Mezzo "middle" Fondo! Experienced riders will be challenged by our 160 km Super Gran and 118 km Gran, while intermediate and novice cyclists may prefer the shorter 67 km Medio or 35 km Piccolo rides. Some routes may be slightly tweaked. Riders will ride on low traffic rolling inland roads along lakes and rivers, and pass by towering wooden churches along the panoramic coastal route that hugs beautiful Baie Sainte Marie.
Debating which distance to ride? We highly recommend that you sign up early (by July 15) to take advantage of the best value jersey package. You can change your route distance right up to the morning of the event!
