Gran Fondo means "grand tour" or "great distance" in Italian, which is a mass-start cycling ride which brings together road cyclists of all abilities.
The Municipality of Clare, situated on the shores of Baie Sainte-Marie (Saint Mary’s Bay) in Southwest Nova Scotia, is home to the largest Acadian community in the province.

At 35 km, the Piccolo offers anyone an excellent introduction to Fondo riding.
Although the Fondo is a tour, not a race, chip timing is provided so you can track your progress year-to-year.
Take a break at one of our conveniently located rest stops to enjoy refreshment and connect with other riders.
Lunch and prizes await you after your ride, so plan to hang around and enjoy the afternoon!
End your ride on a high note and enjoy a local lobster lunch (or BBQ pork or veggie chili), included with all registrations!
The adrenaline and excitement coupled with the cheering fans lining the sides of the road, many waving Acadian flags and yelling encouragement, makes the first part of the ride fly by. Soon we turn right and begin riding into the backcountry. Rolling hills, brilliant sunshine, and friendly smiles from other riders make the day perfect.
See what others had to say...The townspeople cheered, the rest stations were fantastic. The volunteers were so friendly and helpful. Finishing with a lobster dinner - perfect way to end the fondo. "
